Wisdom in everyday life

Happy Halloween

I love this day, I get to wear my pointed hat!

Watching people in their choice of costumes has to be one of my favorite things. No, watching children in costumes is one of my favorite things. In the adult world, it’s like looking at a bunch of unconscious people broadcasting their true identity. Or maybe they’re just wearing a costume. Hmmm. Kids wear their heroes not sure adults do that…

Funny, I think that’s all we are ever doing, wearing some kind of costume, pretending to be someone or something different than we are projecting not actually being. Continuously hiding the true nature of who we are. Changing out our masks depending on the present company and desire to follow social norms or not, whatever that means.

Some people need to practice with their costume and others need not ever wear that costume again!

As far as celebrating the holiday as it was meant, a day of honoring ancestors as the veil between the worlds is the thinest. Some say communication possible. It’s a beautiful day of remembrance. And then maybe that’s why people party so hard on Halloween, they do not want to see or talk to their ancestors, there is no beautiful story back there in their past.

They have chosen to forget the dead. Do the dead forget about us?

Watch for that cool breeze moving across your shoulders tonight. Might be a relative trying to say hi! Or go check your windows…might just be a breeze.
