Wisdom in everyday life

The in-between

Until you know, stay In-between

I became fixated by the notions of cults when Yogi Bhajan first started getting negative press. A very naive response from me was that it couldn’t be true. He himself had taught us not to mess with your students. All through teacher training was this notion that being a kundalini teacher was a spiritual calling and your desire to teach came from a place of service. We were offering a form of yoga that enhanced your daily life and then like a small child I learn Santa isn’t real nor is Yogi Bhajan. Because I had no real dealings with him as a “master” he was but a figment of my imagination.

I was able to project onto him a personality that befitted a yoga master. It just seems so stupid to me now that I ever “believed” in him and worse stood up to those who would say different. Then word spreads from sources that you trust and a foundation of spiritual teachings start to move around like an earthquake just hit. Finding out that people would sell God and openly suggest that they themselves might be close to God so we should listen, was something I had to see and hear with my own eyes and ears.

Once evidence is so loud to not be ignored is when the teachings of the fallibility of man need to taught fast. Everyone who reaches the so call level of enlightenment, the one that makes one believe they have reached something, is the first sign, it’s been said so many times “those who know don’t say, those who don’t know say a lot.” The real sign is in the silence but the ego gets there first and soon its you are so amazing we should worship you, or at the very least listen to your mighty word.

The church was established to share the good word and then the church became the arbitrator of truth and then truth was given a price tag. Yoga schools started to spread the “true” teachings, and then yoga started mandated trainings and then it was given a price tag. Wisdom schools were started to spread wisdom and then popularity happened and wisdom was given a price. If you wanted to “Know” something there was a school selling the knowledge. Maybe that’s where we fucked up!

How things would be different if we had listened to what wisdom was saying, that the kingdom is within you. We have miss understood these words and have worked so hard to find teachers and Gurus to tell us where truth is, and God? And no amount of saying, “its inside of you”, has ever worked. We want someone to show us and lead us and speak for us. As if the great creator wanted nothing but baseless creatures walking around yes siring the ruling class. It never occurred to humans to reach inside just once and check it out.

The yogis did a good thing bringing us back to ourselves. Teaching us to sit and shut up and listen for a change, problem was when the ego also wanted people to shut up and listen. The in-between space is held by wisdom. Like a child you are held until your thinking mind can reach a level of intelligence to sustain your own thinking and reasoning. All of that happening inside of you but the blinding of a charismatic teacher makes you believe it’s happening just to them, and thus they are special.

The teaching, “its available to us all”, went out the window and I’ll show you instead, came on line. You don’t need to work so hard for something I have already done just follow me, seems smart until you realize you gave your power away. Your work is to stay in the in-between until your belief in what “they” say is something you have experienced to be real for you.

That’s the work.
