I rewatched the Bikram documentary on Netflix and I recommend it especially if you are still wrapped up in the mindset of a devotee. The horror of these teachers coming to our country with its vast differences from their own countries has wrecked havoc on our people. None of the girls raped by Birkam wanted that nasty man on top of them and none of us who are doing a true spiritual walk should ever have to fear that “the teacher” will find them attractive to say the least and vulnerable to say the most. It’s no different in any world of master and student. Ask the boys of the Catholic Church, did they want that nasty man to touch them, you know the man of God?
I am in a state of distress when I think of the vulnerability of us who have been searching. Even the Bible is full of people who have been twisted by the search for God. We find our selves worshipping a false God when The Teacher or Preacher said it was the ONE TRUE GOD, lies lies and more lies. If they push a segregated or biased or plain ole bullshit story, you can guess it’s false. If the teachings are not of love of your fellow beings step back! So does this mean that humanity has been at a disadvantage this whole time or are we responsible for letting go of our sovereignty. I think therefor I am, said almost no one in the modern age. They, read and mimic and then they are… Is anyone truly thinking for themselves and/or have we been tricked out of it. Follow me and don’t talk.
When I watch Birkam talking besides seeing shit coming out of his mouth I see a man whose ego was so large that he stopped seeing how small he was. Being able to push yourself on girls and collect money, lots of money, for YOUR form of Yoga, remember he tried to own his masters work, saying he came up with the yoga sequence he taught, he did not! I have listened to others do the same, using someone else’s work for their own.
Even the Jesus freaks claim Jesus said, when Jesus said, As the Christ, when the father(creator) is with us who can be against us. Also Jesus once having received their enlightenment spoke of their power coming from the source not itself. Yet go to a fundamentalist church and it’s Jesus the man they worship, the one who was to be the king of the Jews, a role he categorically denied. He came to break our bounds of ignorance and made us arbitrators for the truth. It was the Christ that said we had a direct connection to our source, our creator. We do not need a middle man. Look around it seems everyone searching is searching for the one who can tell them, rather than searching for the connection to the divine inside of themselves.
Good trick don’t you think. When Birkam got so big that the students began competing to be the next Birkam favorite, it was for financial gain, they wanted and needed permission to start their own studio. Now Yogi Bhajan didn’t do that, he said there could be yoga studios on every corner and still there wouldn’t be enough to help those who needed help. And he is right, Yoga is definitely influenced by the teacher teaching it, so all kinds of teachers are needed in order for the vibration you are comfortable with to be the vibration in the room.
Some need teachers that can be pointedly truthful about yourself bullshit, while others need room to move through vast aspects of themselves and others want the juice that comes from group work. But if you are not the monarch of your inner kingdom, the vicious teachers are looking for you. If you need to be told then that is what they are going to teach and you will learn to bow your head and keep quiet because you’re just a lowly student, and once you have ‘paid’ sufficiently in time worship and money you might move up, to sit at the front of the class at the foot of the master, oh my God.
Anyway that’s my rant and I’m sticking to it. Be the king of your castle! Be the Queen of your world! Be the power in which you seek! No one can do it for you!
